Responsibility is a burden. Is it exactly a burden? Who wants to take responsibility? As far as I know, most people will rather shun away from responsibility because of the implications that come attached with it. An example will be the familiar army scenario where most people will rather do their own thing than to venture out because of the responsibility that comes with it if you screw up in the venture.

Why do some people then do not shun away from them? It takes courage to accept responsibility. Some of these courageous people die. Some live to tell the story but all of these people who took responsibility should be given a pat and even applauded for having the courage to take responsibility because they are great in their own right unlike average men.

What constitutes a good friend? What makes the friend special? In my opinion, a true friend is one who will be there for you all the time and will never leave you in your darkest hours. He also accepts you for you are and will never attempt to change you in any way because he will never embark on a mission to change you. If he makes the effort to change you, either he feels that he wants to help you or has started to dislike you for whom you are and try to make you into someone whom he can like. The other qualities are important but the person who cares about you is the best friend in your life.
