Gambling!!

I love money. In fact, everybody loves money.Nobody can resist the lure of money. Who doesn't? Everybody will love to make a quick buck or two and with the ongoing World Cup, people will be tempted to place a bet. The World Cup betting is said to run into billions of dollars. As i was reading the New Paper today, I noticed a number of gambling hotlines which supposedly offers top gambling tips(to the tune of 50 dollars a call or $2 a min) from the soccer experts and in some ads gives statistics on the results which they have predicted correctly.
If it was that easy to make money by listening to the expert's advice, why don't these fellows have to share their so-called secrets? They might as well keep their secrets to themselves and make good money. They know that there are gamblers who will do anything to make a quick buck and by listening to these experts, gamblers receive an assurance of the bets they place and the sums placed can run into thousands. Gambling has never made a person rich. From the stories I read and hear, people go into debts and the only people who gamble freely without any worries are the rich people. It's very difficult to stay away from gambling once you get hooked onto it and especially when you incur heavy losses and try to recoup those losses.
The only thing the guys who set up the soccer hotline are interested in is your money. They are providing a service and they expect a return on their service where you have to part ways with your money to pay for the 'expert's' advice. Naturally, you will want to place a bet after making that expensive call to recoup your money and also to make a quick buck.
I'm not asking everyone to stay away from placing small harmless bets in the name of fun. I just hope people will be wise(I hope so) and know their limits. I might place a bet or two just for the fun of it in the coming World Cup.
